Two decades at the felt have taught me a few things. Write these down:
- Never bluff a calling station. They’ll call you with seven-high and smile like they planned it.
- The best poker face is the one you make when you actually have it. Nobody believes you. It’s perfect.
- Fold preflop. Not always — just way more often than your ego wants you to.
- It’s not gambling if you win. It’s only gambling when I lose. Which, admittedly, science is still studying.
